Psalm 20

DBY 1 {To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob protect thee; NIV 1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. DBY 2 May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; NIV 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. DBY 3 Remember all thine oblations, and accept thy burnt-offering; Selah. NIV 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. "Selah" DBY 4 Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfil all thy counsels. NIV 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. DBY 5 We will triumph in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we set up our banners. Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions! NIV 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. DBY 6 Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed; he answereth him from the heavens of his holiness, with the saving strength of his right hand. NIV 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. DBY 7 Some make mention of chariots, and some of horses, but we of the name of Jehovah our God. NIV 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. DBY 8 They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen and stand upright. NIV 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. DBY 9 Save, Jehovah! Let the king answer us in the day we call. NIV 9 O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!
