Psalm 25

MSG 1 My head is high, God, held high; NIV 1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; MSG 2 I'm looking to you, God; No hangdog skulking for me. NIV 2 in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. MSG 3 I've thrown in my lot with you; You won't embarrass me, will you? Or let my enemies get the best of me? Don't embarrass any of us Who went out on a limb for you. It's the traitors who should be humiliated. NIV 3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse. MSG 4 Show me how you work, God; School me in your ways. NIV 4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; MSG 5 Take me by the hand; Lead me down the path of truth. You are my Savior, aren't you? NIV 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. MSG 6 Mark the milestones of your mercy and love, God; Rebuild the ancient landmarks! NIV 6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. MSG 7 Forget that I sowed wild oats; Mark me with your sign of love. Plan only the best for me, God! NIV 7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD. MSG 8 God is fair and just; He corrects the misdirected, Sends them in the right direction. NIV 8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. MSG 9 He gives the rejects his hand, And leads them step-by-step. NIV 9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. MSG 10 From now on every road you travel Will take you to God. Follow the Covenant signs; Read the charted directions. NIV 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant. MSG 11 Keep up your reputation, God; Forgive my bad life; It's been a very bad life. NIV 11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. MSG 12 My question: What are God-worshipers like? Your answer: Arrows aimed at God's bull's-eye. NIV 12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. MSG 15 If I keep my eyes on God, I won't trip over my own feet. NIV 15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. MSG 16 Look at me and help me! I'm all alone and in big trouble. NIV 16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. MSG 17 My heart and kidneys are fighting each other; Call a truce to this civil war. NIV 17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish. MSG 18 Take a hard look at my life of hard labor, Then lift this ton of sin. NIV 18 Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. MSG 19 Do you see how many people Have it in for me? How viciously they hate me? NIV 19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me! MSG 20 Keep watch over me and keep me out of trouble; Don't let me down when I run to you.
