NLT 1 Answer me when I call, O God who declares me innocent. Take away my distress. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer. NIV 1 Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. NLT 2 How long will you people ruin my reputation? How long will you make these groundless accusations? How long will you pursue lies? Interlude NIV 2 How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame ? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods ? "Selah" NLT 3 You can be sure of this: The LORD has set apart the godly for himself. The LORD will answer when I call to him. NIV 3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. NLT 4 Don't sin by letting anger gain control over you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude NIV 4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. "Selah" NLT 5 Offer proper sacrifices, and trust in the LORD. NIV 5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD. NLT 6 Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let the smile of your face shine on us, LORD. NIV 6 Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. NLT 7 You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and wine. NIV 7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. NLT 8 I will lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe. NIV 8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
