TMB 1 <<To the chief musician: On Neginoth. A Psalm of David.>> Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! Thou hast set me at large when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. NIV 1 Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. TMB 2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? How long will ye love vanity and seek after lies? Selah NIV 2 How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame ? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods ? "Selah" TMB 3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for Himself; the LORD will hear when I call unto Him. NIV 3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. TMB 4 Stand in awe, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah NIV 4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. "Selah" TMB 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. NIV 5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD. TMB 6 There are many that say, "Who will show us any good?" LORD, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us. NIV 6 Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. TMB 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time when their corn and wine increased. NIV 7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. TMB 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for Thou LORD only, makest me dwell in safety. NIV 8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
