MSG 1 All together now - applause for God! NIV 1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth! MSG 2 Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise. NIV 2 Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious! MSG 3 Say of God, "We've never seen anything like him!" When your enemies see you in action, they slink off like scolded dogs. NIV 3 Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. MSG 4 The whole earth falls to its knees - it worships you, sings to you, can't stop enjoying your name and fame. NIV 4 All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name." "Selah" MSG 5 Take a good look at God's wonders - they'll take your breath away. NIV 5 Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf ! MSG 6 He converted sea to dry land; travelers crossed the river on foot. Now isn't that cause for a song? NIV 6 He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot-- come, let us rejoice in him. MSG 7 Ever sovereign in his high tower, he keeps his eye on the godless nations. Rebels don't dare raise a finger against him. NIV 7 He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations-- let not the rebellious rise up against him. "Selah" MSG 8 Bless our God, O peoples! Give him a thunderous welcome! NIV 8 Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; MSG 9 Didn't he set us on the road to life? Didn't he keep us out of the ditch? NIV 9 he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. MSG 10 He trained us first, passed us like silver through refining fires, NIV 10 For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. MSG 11 Brought us into hardscrabble country, pushed us to our very limit, NIV 11 You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. MSG 12 Road-tested us inside and out, took us to hell and back; Finally he brought us to this well-watered place. NIV 12 You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. MSG 13 I'm bringing my prizes and presents to your house. I'm doing what I said I'd do, NIV 13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you-- MSG 14 What I solemnly swore I'd do that day when I was in so much trouble: NIV 14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. MSG 15 The choicest cuts of meat for the sacrificial meal; Even the fragrance of roasted lamb is like a meal! Or make it an ox garnished with goat meat! NIV 15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. "Selah" MSG 16 All believers, come here and listen, let me tell you what God did for me. NIV 16 Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. MSG 17 I called out to him with my mouth, my tongue shaped the sounds of music. NIV 17 I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. MSG 18 If I had been cozy with evil, the Lord would never have listened. NIV 18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; MSG 19 But he most surely did listen, he came on the double when he heard my prayer. NIV 19 but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. MSG 20 Blessed be God: he didn't turn a deaf ear, he stayed with me, loyal in his love. NIV 20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
