Psalm 7

NIRV 1 LORD my God, I go to you for safety. Help me. Save me from all those who are chasing me. NIV 1 O LORD my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me, NIRV 2 If you don't, they will tear me apart as if they were lions. They will rip me to pieces so that no one can save me. NIV 2 or they will tear me like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me. NIRV 3 LORD my God, suppose I have done something wrong. Suppose I am guilty. NIV 3 O LORD my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands-- NIRV 4 I have done evil to my friend. Or I have robbed my enemy without any reason. NIV 4 if I have done evil to him who is at peace with me or without cause have robbed my foe-- NIRV 5 If I have done any of those things, let my enemy chase me and catch me. Let him walk all over me. Let him bury me in the dust. "Selah" NIV 5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust. "Selah" NIRV 6 Lord, rise up in your anger. Rise up against the great anger of my enemies. My God, wake up. Command that the right thing be done. NIV 6 Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies. Awake, my God; decree justice. NIRV 7 Let all the people of the earth gather around you. Rule over them from your throne in heaven. NIV 7 Let the assembled peoples gather around you. Rule over them from on high; NIRV 8 Lord, judge all people. Lord, judge me. But remember that I have done what is right. Most High God, remember that I am honest. NIV 8 let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High. NIRV 9 God, you always do what is right. You look deep down inside the hearts and minds of people. Bring to an end the terrible things sinful people do. Make godly people safe. NIV 9 O righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure. NIRV 10 The Most High God is like a shield that keeps me safe. He saves those whose hearts are honest. NIV 10 My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. NIRV 11 God judges fairly. He shows his anger every day. NIV 11 God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day. NIRV 12 If evil people don't change their ways, God will sharpen his sword. He will get his bow ready to use. NIV 12 If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. NIRV 13 He has prepared his deadly weapons. He has made his flaming arrows ready. NIV 13 He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows. NIRV 14 Anyone who is full of evil plans trouble and ends up telling lies. NIV 14 He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. NIRV 15 Anyone who digs a hole and shovels it out falls into the pit he has made. NIV 15 He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. NIRV 16 The trouble he causes comes back on him. The terrible things he does come down on his own head. NIV 16 The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head. NIRV 17 I will give thanks to the LORD because he does what is right. I will sing praise to the LORD Most High. NIV 17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
