Psalm 75

NRS 1 We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks; your name is near. People tell of your wondrous deeds. NIV 1 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds. NRS 2 At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity. NIV 2 You say, "I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge uprightly. NRS 3 When the earth totters, with all its inhabitants, it is I who keep its pillars steady. (Selah) NIV 3 When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm. "Selah" NRS 4 I say to the boastful, "Do not boast," and to the wicked, "Do not lift up your horn; NIV 4 To the arrogant I say, 'Boast no more,' and to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horns. NRS 5 do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with insolent neck." NIV 5 Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak with outstretched neck.' " NRS 6 For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up; NIV 6 No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man. NRS 7 but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. NIV 7 But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. NRS 8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed; he will pour a draught from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs. NIV 8 In the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs. NRS 9 But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. NIV 9 As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob. NRS 10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted. NIV 10 I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
