Psalm 77

NKJV 1 To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to God with my voice-- To God with my voice; And He gave ear to me. NIV 1 I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. NKJV 2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted. NIV 2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands and my soul refused to be comforted. NKJV 3 I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah NIV 3 I remembered you, O God, and I groaned; I mused, and my spirit grew faint. "Selah" NKJV 4 You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. NIV 4 You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. NKJV 5 I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times. NIV 5 I thought about the former days, the years of long ago; NKJV 6 I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search. NIV 6 I remembered my songs in the night. My heart mused and my spirit inquired: NKJV 7 Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be favorable no more? NIV 7 "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? NKJV 8 Has His mercy ceased forever? Has His promise failed forevermore? NIV 8 Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? NKJV 9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah NIV 9 Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" "Selah" NKJV 10 And I said, "This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High." NIV 10 Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High." NKJV 11 I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. NIV 11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. NKJV 12 I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds. NIV 12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. NKJV 13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? NIV 13 Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? NKJV 14 You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples. NIV 14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. NKJV 15 You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah NIV 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. "Selah" NKJV 16 The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled. NIV 16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed. NKJV 17 The clouds poured out water; The skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also flashed about. NIV 17 The clouds poured down water, the skies resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth. NKJV 18 The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook. NIV 18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. NKJV 19 Your way was in the sea, Your path in the great waters, And Your footsteps were not known. NIV 19 Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. NKJV 20 You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.
