GOD'S WORD Translation

New International Version

Titus 2:1-6

GW 1 Tell believers to live the kind of life that goes along with accurate teachings. NIV 1 You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. GW 2 Tell older men to be sober. Tell them to be men of good character, to use good judgment, and to be well-grounded in faith, love, and endurance. NIV 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. GW 3 Tell older women to live their lives in a way that shows they are dedicated to God. Tell them not to be gossips or addicted to alcohol, but to be examples of virtue. NIV 3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. GW 4 In this way they will teach young women to show love to their husbands and children, NIV 4 Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, GW 5 to use good judgment, and to be morally pure. Also, tell them to teach young women to be homemakers, to be kind, and to place themselves under their husbands' authority. Then no one can speak evil of God's word. NIV 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. GW 6 Encourage young men to use good judgment. NIV 6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
