Titus 3:3-7

NLT 3 Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled by others and became slaves to many wicked desires and evil pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy. We hated others, and they hated us. NIV 3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. NLT 4 But then God our Savior showed us his kindness and love. NIV 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, NLT 5 He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit. NIV 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, NLT 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did. NIV 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, NLT 7 He declared us not guilty because of his great kindness. And now we know that we will inherit eternal life. NIV 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
