1 Reyes 14:1-7

1 En aquel tiempo Abías hijo de Jeroboam cayó enfermo,

2 y dijo Jeroboam a su mujer: Levántate ahora, disfrázate, para que no te conozcan que eres la mujer de Jeroboam, y ve a Silo; que allá está Ahías profeta, el que me dijo que yo había de ser rey sobre este pueblo.

3 Y toma en tu mano diez panes, y turrones, y una vasija de miel, y ve a él; para que te declare lo que ha de ser de este niño.

4 Y la mujer de Jeroboam lo hizo así; y se levantó, y fue a Silo, y vino a casa de Ahías. Y Ahías ya no podía ver, que sus ojos se habían oscurecido a causa de su vejez.

5 Mas el SEÑOR había dicho a Ahías: He aquí que la mujer de Jeroboam vendrá a consultarte por su hijo, que está enfermo; así y así le has de responder; pues será que cuando ella viniere, vendrá disimulada.

6 Y cuando Ahías oyó el sonido de sus pies que entraba por la puerta, dijo: Entra, mujer de Jeroboam; ¿por qué te disimulas? Pero yo soy enviado a ti con revelación dura.

7 Ve, y di a Jeroboam: Así dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: Por cuanto yo te levanté de en medio del pueblo, y te hice príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel,

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 14

This chapter relates the sickness of Jeroboam's son, the application of his wife, at his instance, to the prophet Ahijah, in the child's favour, 1Ki 14:1-6, the prophecy of the prophet concerning the ruin of Jeroboam's house, and the death of the child, which came to pass, 1Ki 14:7-18, an account of the years of Jeroboam's reign, and also of Rehoboam's, 1Ki 14:19-21, and of the evil things done and suffered by the latter in his kingdom, and the calamities that came upon him for it, 1Ki 14:22-28 and the conclusion of his reign, 1Ki 14:29-31.
