2 Reyes 3:12-22

12 Y Josafat dijo: Este tendrá palabra del SEÑOR. Y descendieron a él el rey de Israel, y Josafat, y el rey de Idumea.

13 Entonces Eliseo dijo al rey de Israel: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo? Ve a los profetas de tu padre, y a los profetas de tu madre. Y el rey de Israel le respondió: No; porque ha juntado el SEÑOR estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los moabitas.

14 Y Eliseo dijo: Vive el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, en cuya presencia estoy, que si no tuviese respeto al rostro de Josafat rey de Judá, no mirara a ti, ni te viera.

15 Mas ahora traedme un tañedor. Y mientras el tañedor tocaba, la mano del SEÑOR vino sobre él;

16 y dijo: Así dijo el SEÑOR: Haced en este valle muchas acequias.

17 Porque el SEÑOR ha dicho así: No veréis viento, ni veréis lluvia, y este valle será lleno de agua, y beberéis vosotros, y vuestras bestias, y vuestros ganados.

18 Y esto es cosa ligera en los ojos del SEÑOR; dará también a los moabitas en vuestras manos.

19 Y heriréis a toda ciudad fortalecida y a toda villa escogida, y talaréis todo buen árbol, y cegaréis todas las fuentes de aguas, y destruiréis con piedras toda tierra fértil.

20 Y aconteció que por la mañana, cuando se ofrece el sacrificio, he aquí vinieron aguas por el camino de Idumea, y la tierra fue llena de aguas.

21 Y todos los de Moab, cuando oyeron que los reyes subían a pelear contra ellos, se juntaron desde todos los que ceñían talabarte arriba, y se pusieron en la frontera.

22 Y cuando se levantaron por la mañana, y el sol salió sobre las aguas, vieron los de Moab desde lejos las aguas bermejas como sangre;

INTRODUCTION TO 2 KINGS 3

This chapter gives the character of Jehoram king of Israel, 2Ki 3:1-3, relates the rebellion of the king of Moab against him, 2Ki 3:4,5, the war that he and his allies entered into on that account, 2Ki 3:6-9 the distress the combined army were in for want of water, their application upon this to Elisha, who promised them water, and they had it in a wonderful manner, 2Ki 3:10-20 and the chapter is concluded with the rout of the Moabites, and the barbarity of their king to his eldest son, 2Ki 3:21-27.
