SERENDIPITY

In 1820, a man named Yorgos was digging in his field on the island of Milos in Greece. As he was digging, he hit upon some stones. The stones turned out to be four statues, three of the Greek god Hermes and one of Aphrodite. An archeological expedition purchased the Aphrodite, took it to France, where the king named it “Venus de Milo.” It was housed in the Louvre and became one of the most famous works of art in history. All this forgotten in a field.

Jesus told a story similar to this when He talked about a man who found a treasure in a field and another who found a pearl of great price. Sometimes, the most wonderful things happen to us when and where we least expect them.
