1 I will exalt1 you, O LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths2 and did not let my enemies gloat over me.3 2 O LORD my God, I called to you for help4 and you healed me.5 3 O LORD, you brought me up from the gravea;6 you spared me from going down into the pit.7 4 Sing8 to the LORD, you saints9 of his; praise his holy name.10 5 For his anger11 lasts only a moment,12 but his favor lasts a lifetime;13 weeping14 may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.15 6 When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken."16 7 O LORD, when you favored me, you made my mountainb stand firm; but when you hid your face,17 I was dismayed. 8 To you, O LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: 9 "What gain is there in my destruction,c in my going down into the pit?18 Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?19 10 Hear,20 O LORD, and be merciful to me;21 O LORD, be my help.22" 11 You turned my wailing23 into dancing;24 you removed my sackcloth25 and clothed me with joy,26 12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.
