Psalm 68:6-16 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
6 God sets the lonely1 in families,a2 he leads forth the prisoners3 with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.4 7 When you went out5 before your people, O God, when you marched through the wasteland,6 "Selah" 8 the earth shook,7 the heavens poured down rain,8 before God, the One of Sinai,9 before God, the God of Israel.10 9 You gave abundant showers,11 O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance. 10 Your people settled in it, and from your bounty,12 O God, you provided13 for the poor. 11 The Lord announced the word, and great was the company14 of those who proclaimed it: 12 "Kings and armies flee15 in haste; in the camps men divide the plunder.16 13 Even while you sleep among the campfires,b17 the wings of [my] dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold." 14 When the Almightyc scattered18 the kings in the land, it was like snow fallen on Zalmon.19 15 The mountains of Bashan20 are majestic mountains;21 rugged are the mountains of Bashan. 16 Why gaze in envy, O rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses22 to reign, where the LORD himself will dwell forever?23
