1 O God, do not keep silent;¹ be not quiet, O God, be not still. 2 See how your enemies are astir,² how your foes rear their heads.³ 3 With cunning they conspire⁴ against your people; they plot against those you cherish.⁵ 4 "Come," they say, "let us destroy⁶ them as a nation,⁷ that the name of Israel be remembered⁸ no more." 5 With one mind they plot together;⁹ they form an alliance against you-- 6 the tents of Edom¹⁰ and the Ishmaelites, of Moab¹¹ and the Hagrites,¹² 7 Gebal,^a¹³ Ammon¹⁴ and Amalek,¹⁵ Philistia,¹⁶ with the people of Tyre.¹⁷ 8 Even Assyria¹⁸ has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot.¹⁹ "Selah" 9 Do to them as you did to Midian,²⁰ as you did to Sisera²¹ and Jabin²² at the river Kishon,²³ 10 who perished at Endor²⁴ and became like refuse²⁵ on the ground.
