1 Kings 12:17

But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities
of Judah
Either such Israelites of the ten tribes that had before dwelt, or now upon this removed, for the sake of worship, to dwell in the tribe of Judah; or else that part of Israel, the tribe of Judah, which dwelt in the cities belonging to it:

Rehoboam reigned over them;
they owned him to be their king, and submitted to his government.

15 Y no oyó el rey al pueblo; porque era ordenación del SEÑOR, para confirmar su palabra, que el SEÑOR había hablado por medio de Ahías silonita a Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.

16 Y cuando todo el pueblo vio que el rey no les había oído, le respondió estas palabras, diciendo: ¿Qué parte tenemos nosotros con David? No hay heredad en el hijo de Isaí. ¡Israel, a tus estancias! ¡Provee ahora en tu casa, David! Entonces Israel se fue a sus estancias.

17 Mas reinó Roboam sobre los hijos de Israel que moraban en las ciudades de Judá.

18 Y el rey Roboam envió a Adoram, que estaba sobre los tributos; pero le apedreó todo Israel, y murió. Entonces el rey Roboam se esforzó a subir en un carro, y huir a Jerusalén.

19 Así se rebeló Israel de la casa de David hasta hoy.
