1 Reyes 12:19 Meaning and Commentary

1 Kings 12:19

So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
] In which the writer of this book lived, and so continued until their captivity by the king of Assyria. Their revolt is called a rebellion; for though it was according to the purpose and will of God, yet the people had no command or order from God for it, and was done without consulting him, and was a rejection of their lawful prince.

17 Mas rein贸 Roboam sobre los hijos de Israel que moraban en las ciudades de Jud谩.
18 Y el rey Roboam envi贸 a Adoram, que estaba sobre los tributos; pero le apedre贸 todo Israel, y muri贸. Entonces el rey Roboam se esforz贸 a subir en un carro, y huir a Jerusal茅n.
19 As铆 se rebel贸 Israel de la casa de David hasta hoy.
20 Y aconteci贸, que oyendo todo Israel que Jeroboam hab铆a vuelto, enviaron y le llamaron a la congregaci贸n, y le hicieron rey sobre todo Israel, sin quedar tribu alguna que siguiese la casa de David, sino s贸lo la tribu de Jud谩.
21 Y cuando Roboam vino a Jerusal茅n, junt贸 toda la casa de Jud谩 y la tribu de Benjam铆n, ciento ochenta mil hombres escogidos de guerra, para hacer guerra a la casa de Israel, y reducir el reino a Roboam hijo de Salom贸n.
