You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.12
Teach the older men2 to be temperate,3 worthy of respect, self-controlled,4 and sound in faith,5 in love and in endurance.
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers6 or addicted to much wine,7 but to teach what is good.
Then they can train the younger women8 to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled9 and pure, to be busy at home,10 to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands,11 so that no one will malign the word of God.126
Similarly, encourage the young men13 to be self-controlled.147
In everything set them an example15 by doing what is good.16 In your teaching show integrity, seriousness
and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.179
Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything,18 to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior19 attractive.2011
For the grace21 of God that brings salvation has appeared22 to all men.2312
It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions,24 and to live self-controlled,25 upright and godly lives26 in this present age,
while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing27 of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,2814
who gave himself for us29 to redeem us from all wickedness30 and to purify31 for himself a people that are his very own,32 eager to do what is good.3315
These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
