9 Assim, pois, edificou a casa, e a acabou, cobrindo-a com traves e pranchas de cedro.

1 Kings 6:9

So he built the house, and finished it
The body of it, the walls of the holy and most holy place, with the chambers on the sides of them, and the porch at the end that led into them:

and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar;
with hollow boards, as the Targum, which formed an arch ceiling to it, and made it look very grand and beautiful; and then over them were laid beams and planks of cedar, not properly as a flat roof to it, but rather as a flooring for other buildings; for upon this, as in ( 1 Kings 6:10 ) , there were chambers built.

7 E edificava-se a casa com pedras lavradas na pedreira; de maneira que nem martelo, nem machado, nem qualquer outro instrumento de ferro se ouviu na casa enquanto estava sendo edificada.

8 A porta para as câmaras laterais do meio estava � banda direita da casa; e por escadas espirais subia-se ao andar do meio, e deste ao terceiro.

9 Assim, pois, edificou a casa, e a acabou, cobrindo-a com traves e pranchas de cedro.

10 Também edificou os andares, contra toda a casa, de cinco côvados de altura, e os ligou � casa com madeira de cedro.

11 Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Salomão, dizendo:
