24 Escondeu-se, pois, Davi no campo; e, sendo a lua nova, sentou-se o rei para comer.

1 Samuel 20:24

So David hid himself in the field
Not directly, but at the time appointed; for he went to Bethlehem, and returned from thence before that time:

and when the new moon was come;
the first clay of the month, which was a solemn festival:

the king sat him down to eat meat;
Saul sat down at his table to eat of the provisions that were set upon it; which it is very probable were the peace offerings for that day, which he, his family, and nobles, feasted on together; it is in the Hebrew, "he sat down at the bread" {b}, which is put for all the food on the table, and the provisions of it.

22 Mas se eu disser ao moço assim: Olha que as flechas estão para lá de ti; vai-te embora, porque o Senhor te manda ir.
23 E quanto ao negócio de que eu e tu falamos, o Senhor é testemunha entre mim e ti para sempre.
24 Escondeu-se, pois, Davi no campo; e, sendo a lua nova, sentou-se o rei para comer.
25 E, sentando-se o rei, como de costume, no seu assento junto � parede, Jônatas sentou-se defronte dele, e Abner sentou-se ao lado de Saul; e o lugar de Davi ficou vazio.
26 Entretanto Saul não disse nada naquele dia, pois dizia consigo: Aconteceu-lhe alguma coisa pela qual não está limpo; certamente não está limpo.
