32 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que o mal passa de nação para nação, e grande tempestade se levantará dos confins da terra.

Jeremiah 25:32

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, behold, evil shall go forth
from nation to nation
Begin in one nation, and then go on to another; first in Judea, and then in Egypt; and so on, like a catching distemper, or like fire that first consumes one house, and then another; and thus shall the cup go round from nation to nation, before prophesied of: thus, beginning at Judea, one nation after another was destroyed by the king of Babylon; then he and his monarchy were destroyed by the Medes and Persians; and then they by the Macedonians; and then the Greeks by the Romans; and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth;
or "from the sides of [it]" ^F20; that is, "from the ends of [it]"; as the Targum, which paraphrases it,

``and many people shall come openly from the ends of the earth;''

this was first verified in the Chaldean army under Nebuchadnezzar, compared to a whirlwind, ( Jeremiah 4:13 ) ; and then in the Medes and Persians under Cyrus; and after that in the Greeks under Alexander; the great and last of all in the Romans under Titus Vespasian.

30 Tu pois lhes profetizarás todas estas palavras, e lhes dirás: O Senhor desde o alto bramirá, e fará ouvir a sua voz desde a sua santa morada; bramirá fortemente contra a sua habitação; dará brados, como os que pisam as uvas, contra todos os moradores da terra.

31 Chegará o estrondo até a extremidade da terra, porque o Senhor tem contenda com as nações, entrará em juízo com toda a carne; quanto aos ímpios, ele os entregará a espada, diz o Senhor.

32 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que o mal passa de nação para nação, e grande tempestade se levantará dos confins da terra.

33 E os mortos do Senhor naquele dia se encontrarão desde uma extremidade da terra até a outra; não serão pranteados, nem recolhidos, nem sepultados; mas serão como esterco sobre a superfície da terra.

34 Uivai, pastores, e clamai; e revolvei-vos na cinza, vós que sois os principais do rebanho; pois já se cumpriram os vossos dias para serdes mortos, e eu vos despedaçarei, e vós então caireis como carneiros escolhidos.
