28 E lhes dirás: Esta é a nação que não obedeceu a voz do Senhor seu Deus e não aceitou a correção; já pereceu a verdade, e está exterminada da sua boca.

Jeremiah 7:28

But thou shalt say unto them
Having found by experience, after long speaking and calling to them, that they are a disobedient and incorrigible people: this is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God;
who, though the Lord is their God, and has chosen and avouched them to be his special people, whom he has distinguished by special favours; yet what he says by his prophets they pay no regard unto, and are no better than the Gentiles, which know not God: nor receiveth correction;
or "instruction" ^F25; so as to be reclaimed, and made the better; neither by the word, nor by the rod; neither had any effect upon them: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth;
neither faith nor faithfulness is in them; nothing but lying, hypocrisy, and insincerity.

26 contudo não me deram ouvidos, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, mas endureceram a sua cerviz. Fizeram pior do que seus pais.

27 Dir-lhes-ás pois todas estas palavras, mas não te darão ouvidos; chamá-los-ás, mas não te responderão.

28 E lhes dirás: Esta é a nação que não obedeceu a voz do Senhor seu Deus e não aceitou a correção; já pereceu a verdade, e está exterminada da sua boca.

29 Corta os teus cabelos, Jerusalém, e lança-os fora, e levanta um pranto sobre os altos escalvados; porque o Senhor já rejeitou e desamparou esta geração, objeto do seu furor.

30 Porque os filhos de Judá fizeram o que era mau aos meus olhos, diz o Senhor; puseram as suas abominações na casa que se chama pelo meu nome, para a contaminarem.
