Neemias 12:43

43 Naquele dia ofereceram grandes sacrifícios, e se alegraram, pois Deus lhes dera motivo de grande alegria; também as mulheres e as crianças se alegraram, de modo que o júbilo de Jerusalém se fez ouvir longe.

Nehemiah 12:43

Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced,
&c.] Or many sacrifices, as Ben Melech interprets it; and these perhaps of the larger sort of cattle, oxen; and which, at least many of them, being peace offerings, the people feasted on them, so that it was a festival day:

for God had made them rejoice with great joy;
on account of the wall being set up all around, and so were in greater safety from their enemies:

the wives also and the children rejoiced;
while the priests blew the trumpets, and the singers sung and played on their instruments, the women and children gave loud shouts for joy:

so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off;
as at the laying of the foundation of the temple, ( Ezra 3:13 ) .

41 e os sacerdotes Eliaquim, Maaséias, Miniamim, Micaías, Elioenai, Zacarias e Hananias, com trombetas,

42 com também Maaséias, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzi, Jeoanã, Malquias, Elão, e Ézer; e os cantores cantavam, tendo Jezraías por dirigente.

44 No mesmo dia foram nomeados homens sobre as câmaras do tesouro para as ofertas alçadas, as primícias e os dízimos, para nelas recolherem, dos campos, das cidades, os quinhões designados pela lei para os sacerdotes e para os levitas; pois Judá se alegrava por estarem os sacerdotes e os levitas no seu posto,

45 observando os preceitos do seu Deus, e os da purificação, como também o fizeram os cantores e porteiros, conforme a ordem de Davi e de seu filho Salomão.
