And it was told him by certain, which said
The phrase, "which said", is omitted in the Vulgate Latin version, and in Beza's most ancient copy. The Syriac, Arabic, and Ethiopic versions only read, "and they said unto him"; and the Persic version renders it, "a certain person said"; some one person, as in ( Matthew 12:47 )

thy mother, and thy brethren, stand without, desiring to see thee;
and to speak with thee, as in ( Matthew 12:47 ) . (See Gill on Matthew 12:47).

21 But he said to them in answer, My mother and my brothers are those who have knowledge of the word of God and do it.
22 Now it came about on one of those days that he got into a boat with his disciples; and he said to them, Let us go over to the other side of the water: and they put out the boat.
