God Gently Leads Those Who Have Children
Share

We can be comforted as we face the highs and lows of parenting God promises to guide us! With these timeless words of truth came a sense of reassurance that I did not have to carry the weight of this role on my own shoulders. The longer I’ve been a parent I’ve become more and more acutely aware of how insufficient my shoulders are and how desperately I need Jesus in order to love my family well.
I’ve also discovered that God invites our hard questions and offers real responses that create in us a peaceful spirit we can build our lives on amidst this dark and challenging world. We can bring our needs to his feet as parents and trust that he not only loves us enough to sustain us he loves our children more than we could ever fathom. He has numbered their days, created them with purpose, and promises to give them a hope and a future. When we fail his grace is sufficient to cover our sin. With Jesus all things are possible (Matthew 19:26) even getting through the formative years of our kids' lives successfully!
Father, I thank you that you promise to lead me, even at times carry me in your arms on this journey of parenthood. You see me, you love me, and you love my kids. Help me to remember that nothing is impossible with you! I can trust that your sovereign hand is on my home. I can live with peace because your Word speaks; it’s a firm foundation for us to build our lives on, and you are a good Father who leads us with grace and love. Help me to lay down my anxiety and pick up your truth. Let your word be a lamp unto my feet, guiding me through each season of parenthood. Amen.
