1 Chronicles 9:21

And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah
Some think this refers to one that was in the times of David; but it seems rather to respect one that was after the Babylonish captivity, see ( 1 Chronicles 26:1 1 Chronicles 26:2 ) though he and his brethren were in an office established in the times of David, and the order of which was now, as then, observed:

was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
who was the chief porter, and kept the door; either that led into the outer court, and kept out all unclean persons from entering there; or that which led into the court of the priests, that none but priests might enter there.

19 Y Salum, hijo de Coré, hijo de Ebiasaf, hijo de Corá, y sus parientes, de la casa de su padre, los coraítas, estaban encargados de la obra del servicio, guardianes de los umbrales de la tienda; sus padres habían estado encargados del campamento del SEÑOR como guardianes de la entrada.

20 Finees, hijo de Eleazar, antes había sido jefe de ellos, y el SEÑOR estaba con él.

21 Zacarías, hijo de Meselemías, era portero a la entrada de la tienda de reunión.

22 El total de los que fueron escogidos para porteros en los umbrales era de doscientos doce. Estos fueron inscritos por genealogía en sus aldeas, a los cuales David y el vidente Samuel pusieron en sus puestos de confianza.

23 Así pues, ellos y sus hijos estuvieron encargados de las puertas de la casa del SEÑOR, es decir, la casa de la tienda.
