42 Estaba aún hablando, cuando he aquí, llegó Jonatán, hijo del sacerdote Abiatar. Y Adonías le dijo: Entra, pues tú eres hombre valiente y traerás buenas noticias.

1 Kings 1:42

And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar
the priest came
Whom his father had left in the city, to observe what passed there, and give him notice of it:

and Adonijah said unto him, come in, for thou [art] a valiant man, and
bringest good tidings;
which seems to be not a very wise speech, as if there was a connection between being valiant, and bringing good news, or that the one had any influence upon the other; though perhaps it means no more than a good man, "a man of virtue" ^F9, as it may be rendered; one that fears sin, as the Targum, and so would report nothing but what was true, and therefore might be depended on; see ( 2 Samuel 18:27 ) ; the same phrase is rendered "a worthy man", ( 1 Kings 1:52 ) .

40 Luego todo el pueblo subió tras él; y el pueblo tocaba flautas y se regocijaba con gran alegría, de modo que la tierra se estremecía con su sonido.

41 Y lo oyó Adonías y todos los invitados que estaban con él cuando habían terminado de comer. Al oír Joab el sonido de la trompeta, dijo: ¿Por qué hace la ciudad tal alboroto?

42 Estaba aún hablando, cuando he aquí, llegó Jonatán, hijo del sacerdote Abiatar. Y Adonías le dijo: Entra, pues tú eres hombre valiente y traerás buenas noticias.

43 Pero Jonatán respondió y dijo a Adonías: Al contrario. Nuestro señor el rey David ha hecho rey a Salomón.

44 El rey también ha enviado con él al sacerdote Sadoc, al profeta Natán, a Benaía, hijo de Joiada, a los cereteos y a los peleteos, y ellos lo han montado en la mula del rey.
