34 Entonces subió Benaía, hijo de Joiada, arremetió contra él y lo mató; y fue sepultado en su casa en el desierto.

1 Kings 2:34

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up
To Gibeon, which was a great high place, ( 1 Kings 3:4 ) ;

and fell upon him, and slew him;
at the altar; or, dragging him from it at some distance, drew his sword and slew him:

and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness;
not in his dwelling house strictly taken, but in a garden or field adjoining to it, which house in the wilderness; not a waste place uninhabited; for, as Kimchi observes, this word sometimes signifies a place uninhabited, though not tilled, but left for pasture of cattle; and in such a place might Joab's house be, at least his country house, where he might have a farm, and fields, and cattle, as it is plain he had, ( 2 Samuel 14:30 ) .

32 El SEÑOR hará volver su sangre sobre su propia cabeza, porque él arremetió contra dos hombres más justos y mejores que él y los mató a espada sin que mi padre David lo supiera: a Abner, hijo de Ner, jefe del ejército de Israel, y a Amasa, hijo de Jeter, jefe del ejército de Judá.

33 Su sangre, pues, recaerá sobre la cabeza de Joab y sobre la cabeza de su descendencia para siempre; pero para David y su descendencia, para su casa y su trono, haya paz de parte del SEÑOR para siempre.

34 Entonces subió Benaía, hijo de Joiada, arremetió contra él y lo mató; y fue sepultado en su casa en el desierto.

35 En su lugar el rey nombró sobre el ejército a Benaía, hijo de Joiada, y el rey nombró al sacerdote Sadoc en lugar de Abiatar.

36 Después el rey envió a llamar a Simei, y le dijo: Edifícate una casa en Jerusalén, vive ahí y no salgas de allí a ninguna parte.
