1 Kings 7:29

And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions,
oxen, and cherubims
The figures of them, for ornament sake; the cherubim, being distinguished from lions and oxen might be figures of men, or else of eagles, as Josephus ^F25, see ( Ezekiel 1:10 )

and upon the ledges there was a base above;
a flat piece of brass laid upon the top of the staves or bars:

and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin
work;
these, according to Dr. Lightfoot ^F26, whom I chiefly follow in this account, were shelving plates of brass at the bottom of the borders and bars, where the priests washed the sacrifice; the filth of which ran off the easier, through the angle of them.

27 Entonces hizo las diez basas de bronce; la longitud de cada basa era de cuatro codos, su anchura de cuatro codos y su altura de tres codos.

28 El diseño de las basas era éste: tenían bordes y los bordes estaban entre las molduras,

29 y en los bordes que estaban entre las molduras había leones, bueyes y querubines; y en las molduras había un pedestal arriba, y debajo de los leones y bueyes había guirnaldas a bajo relieve.

30 Cada basa tenía cuatro ruedas de bronce, con ejes de bronce, y sus cuatro patas tenían soportes; debajo de la pila había soportes fundidos con guirnaldas a cada lado.

31 La boca de la pila dentro de la corona en la parte superior medía un codo, y su boca era redonda como el diseño de un pedestal, de un codo y medio; también en su boca había entalladuras, y sus bordes eran cuadrados, no redondos.
