23 sacrificaba a los dioses de Damasco que lo habían derrotado, y decía: Por cuanto los dioses de los reyes de Aram los ayudaron, sacrificaré a ellos para que me ayuden. Pero ellos fueron su ruina y la de todo Israel.

2 Chronicles 28:23

For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him,
&c.] As he foolishly imagined, that they might do him no more hurt; as it is said of the Indians, that they worship the devil, that he may not hurt them; but that a king of Judah should do this is monstrous stupidity; rather therefore the meaning may be, that he worshipped the gods of those that smote him, those of the men or soldiers of Damascus

21 Pues Acaz había tomado una porción del tesoro de la casa del SEÑOR, del palacio del rey y de los príncipes, y la había dado al rey de Asiria; pero no le sirvió de nada.

22 Y en el tiempo de su angustia este rey Acaz fue aún más infiel al SEÑOR;

23 sacrificaba a los dioses de Damasco que lo habían derrotado, y decía: Por cuanto los dioses de los reyes de Aram los ayudaron, sacrificaré a ellos para que me ayuden. Pero ellos fueron su ruina y la de todo Israel.

24 Además, cuando Acaz recogió los utensilios de la casa de Dios, hizo pedazos los utensilios de la casa de Dios; cerró las puertas de la casa del SEÑOR e hizo para sí altares en cada rincón de Jerusalén.

25 Y en cada ciudad de Judá hizo lugares altos para quemar incienso a otros dioses, y provocó a ira al SEÑOR, Dios de sus padres.
