2 Samuel 9:13 Meaning and Commentary

2 Samuel 9:13

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem
Either in some apartments in the king's palace, or in some house in the city provided for him; for he returned not to Lodebar, nor to any mansion house upon the estate, of Saul restored unto him:

for he did eat continually at the king's table;
to which he was invited, and he accepted of:

and was lame on both his feet;
or "though" he was F14, yet this was no objection to David, he admitted him notwithstanding his infirmity; nor any obstruction to Mephibosheth, who found ways and means to be carried to the king's table daily.

2 Samuel 9:13 In-Context

11 Respondió Siba al rey: Conforme a todo lo que mi señor el rey mande a su siervo, así hará tu siervo. Y Mefiboset comió a la mesa de David como uno de los hijos del rey.
12 Mefiboset tenía un hijo pequeño que se llamaba Micaía. Todos los que moraban en la casa de Siba eran siervos de Mefiboset;
13 pero Mefiboset moraba en Jerusalén, porque siempre comía a la mesa del rey. Estaba lisiado de ambos pies.
