Daniel 5:24 Meaning and Commentary

Daniel 5:24

Then was the part of the hand sent from him
That is, from God: being thus reproached and blasphemed, at that very instant, and for that reason, because the vessels of his sanctuary were profaned, and idol gods were praised, and he despised; he caused part of a hand, the writing fingers of it, to appear on the wall of the king's palace: and this writing was written;

Daniel 5:24 In-Context

22 Mas t煤, su hijo Belsasar, no has humillado tu coraz贸n aunque sab铆as todo esto,
23 sino que te has ensalzado contra el Se帽or del cielo; y han tra铆do delante de ti los vasos de su templo, y t煤 y tus nobles, tus mujeres y tus concubinas, hab茅is estado bebiendo vino en ellos y hab茅is alabado a los dioses de plata y oro, de bronce, hierro, madera y piedra, que ni ven, ni oyen, ni entienden; pero al Dios que tiene en su mano tu propio aliento y es due帽o de todos tus caminos, no has glorificado;
24 por lo cual El envi贸 de su presencia la mano que traz贸 esta inscripci贸n.
25 Y 茅sta es la inscripci贸n que fue trazada: MENE , MENE, TEKEL , UFARSIN .
26 Esta es la interpretaci贸n del escrito: MENE: Dios ha contado tu reino y le ha puesto fin.
