Génesis 20:7-17

7 Ahora pues, devuelve la mujer al marido, porque él es profeta y orará por ti, y vivirás. Mas si no la devuelves, sabe que de cierto morirás, tú y todos los tuyos.

8 Abimelec se levantó muy de mañana, llamó a todos sus siervos y relató todas estas cosas a oídos de ellos; y los hombres se atemorizaron en gran manera.

9 Entonces Abimelec llamó a Abraham, y le dijo: ¿Qué nos has hecho? ¿Y en qué he pecado contra ti, para que hayas traído sobre mí y sobre mi reino un pecado tan grande? Me has hecho cosas que no se deben hacer.

10 Y Abimelec añadió a Abraham: ¿Qué has hallado para que hayas hecho esto?

11 Y Abraham respondió: Porque me dije: Sin duda no hay temor de Dios en este lugar, y me matarán por causa de mi mujer.

12 Además, en realidad es mi hermana, hija de mi padre, pero no hija de mi madre; y vino a ser mi mujer.

13 Y sucedió que cuando Dios me hizo salir errante de la casa de mi padre, yo le dije a ella: "Este es el favor que me harás: a cualquier lugar que vayamos, dirás de mí: 'Es mi hermano.'"

14 Entonces Abimelec tomó ovejas y vacas, siervos y siervas, y se los dio a Abraham, y le devolvió a Sara su mujer.

15 Y dijo Abimelec: He aquí, mi tierra está delante de ti; habita donde quieras.

16 Y a Sara le dijo: Mira, he dado a tu hermano mil piezas de plata; he aquí, esta es tu vindicación delante de todos los que están contigo, y ante todos, quedas vindicada.

17 Abraham oró a Dios, y Dios sanó a Abimelec, a su mujer y a sus siervas; y tuvieron hijos.

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 20

This chapter relates the removal of Abraham to Gerar, Ge 20:1; the king of Gerar's taking to him Sarah, whom Abraham had called his sister, Ge 20:2; who is rebuked of God for it in a dream, Ge 20:3; for which he makes an apology that is admitted, only he is ordered to restore to Abraham his wife, Ge 20:4-7; and accordingly early in the morning he called his servants, and acquainted them with what had happened, Ge 20:8; and then sent for Abraham, and expressed his resentment at his usage of him, Ge 20:9; which Abraham defended as well as he could, Ge 20:10-13; the issue of all which was, great kindness was shown to Abraham, and his wife restored to him, though with a reproof to her from the king, Ge 20:14-16; upon which Abraham prayed for the healing of Abimelech and his family, in which he was heard and answered, Ge 20:17,18.
