Acts 18:20

When they desired him to tarry longer time with them
Either Aquila and Priscilla, whom he left here, for here they were, as is certain from Ac 18:24,26
or rather the Jews with whom he reasoned, who might be desirous of further conference with him, upon the subject they had disputed about; either in order to gain more knowledge, or in hopes of baffling and confounding him:

he consented not;
for a reason afterwards given.

18 Y Pablo, después de quedarse muchos días más, se despidió de los hermanos y se embarcó hacia Siria, y con él iban Priscila y Aquila. Y en Cencrea se hizo cortar el cabello, porque tenía hecho un voto.
19 Llegaron a Efeso y los dejó allí. Y entrando él a la sinagoga, discutía con los judíos.
20 Cuando le rogaron que se quedara más tiempo, no consintió,
21 sino que se despidió de ellos, diciendo: Volveré a vosotros otra vez, si Dios quiere. Y zarpó de Efeso.
22 Al desembarcar en Cesarea, subió a Jerusalén para saludar a la iglesia, y luego descendió a Antioquía.
