27 Entonces vino la palabra del SEÑOR a Jeremías, después que el rey había quemado el rollo y las palabras que Baruc había escrito al dictado de Jeremías, diciendo:

Jeremiah 36:27

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah
In the place where he was hid; the Lord knew where he was, for he hid him, and therefore could send his word to him: after the king had burnt the roll;
either with his own hands, or had ordered it to be burnt, or connived at the burning of it: and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah;
hence the Jews F21 gather, that when a man sees the book of the law burnt, that he is bound to rend his garments twice; once for the burning of the paper or parchment, and again for the burning of the writing; but no other is meant than the roll, in which the prophecies were written, Baruch took from the mouth of Jeremiah: saying;

25 Y aunque Elnatán y Delaía y Gemarías rogaron al rey que no quemara el rollo, él no les hizo caso.
26 Luego el rey ordenó a Jerameel, hijo del rey, a Seraías, hijo de Azriel, y a Selemías, hijo de Abdeel, prender al escriba Baruc y al profeta Jeremías, pero el SEÑOR los escondió.
27 Entonces vino la palabra del SEÑOR a Jeremías, después que el rey había quemado el rollo y las palabras que Baruc había escrito al dictado de Jeremías, diciendo:
28 Vuelve a tomar otro rollo y escribe en él todas las palabras que antes había en el primer rollo que quemó Joacim, rey de Judá.
29 Y a Joacim, rey de Judá, dirás: "Así dice el SEÑOR: 'Tú has quemado este rollo, diciendo: "¿Por qué has escrito en él que ciertamente vendrá el rey de Babilonia y destruirá esta tierra, y hará desaparecer de ella a hombres y animales?'"
