18 para que también vosotros os apartéis hoy de seguir al SEÑOR? Y sucederá que si hoy os rebeláis contra el SEÑOR, mañana El se enojará con toda la congregación de Israel.

Joshua 22:18

But that you must turn away this day from following the
Lord?
&c.] From the worship of the Lord, as the Targum, and so on ( Joshua 22:16 ) ; not content with the former transgression, but must add this revolt unto it, and at a time which sadly aggravates it:

and it will be, that [seeing] ye rebel to, day against the Lord;
against the Word of the Lord, as the Targum, and so on ( Joshua 22:16 ) ;

that tomorrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel;
or, in a little time, if a stop is not put to this revolt, the whole body of the people will suffer for it: here they express a concern for the whole nation of Israel, as well as for the glory of God; for sometimes the whole congregation has been charged with the sins of individuals, and punished for it, as a case after mentioned shows; see ( Joshua 7:1 Joshua 7:5 ) .

16 Así dice toda la congregación del SEÑOR: "¿Qué infidelidad es ésta que habéis cometido contra el Dios de Israel, apartándoos hoy de seguir al SEÑOR, edificándoos un altar, y rebelándoos hoy contra el SEÑOR?

17 "¿No nos es suficiente la iniquidad de Peor, de la cual no nos hemos limpiado hasta hoy, a pesar de que vino una plaga sobre la congregación del SEÑOR,

18 para que también vosotros os apartéis hoy de seguir al SEÑOR? Y sucederá que si hoy os rebeláis contra el SEÑOR, mañana El se enojará con toda la congregación de Israel.

19 "Mas si la tierra de vuestra posesión es inmunda, entonces pasad a la tierra de la posesión del SEÑOR, donde está el tabernáculo del SEÑOR, y tomad posesión entre nosotros. Pero no os rebeléis contra el SEÑOR, ni os rebeléis contra nosotros edificándoos un altar aparte del altar del SEÑOR nuestro Dios.

20 "¿No fue infiel Acán, hijo de Zera, en cuanto al anatema, y vino la ira sobre toda la congregación de Israel? Y aquel hombre no pereció solo en su iniquidad."
