6 Aquel día haré de los jefes de familias de Judá como brasero de fuego entre leños, y como antorcha ardiendo entre gavillas, y consumirán a diestra y a siniestra a todos los pueblos de alrededor, y Jerusalén será habitada de nuevo en su lugar, en Jerusalén.

Zechariah 12:6

In that day will I make the governors of Judah like a
hearth of fire among the wood
As a large hearth of fire, with wood all about it, devours and consumes it; so shall the governors of Judah be to the nations that shall come up against Jerusalem. The Targum renders it,

``as a garment of fire among wood:''

and like a torch of fire in a sheaf;
of wheat, which presently destroys it; see ( Obadiah 1:18 ) :

and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand
and on the left;
on the south and on the north, as the Targum interprets it. The phrase denotes the utter destruction of the people on all sides:

and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in
Jerusalem;
upon that very spot of ground which was formerly called Jerusalem shall the city be built again, and inhabited; and shall continue, notwithstanding the attempts of all the nations of the earth to destroy it; see ( Jeremiah 30:18 ) .

4 Aquel díadeclara el SEÑORheriré a todo caballo de espanto, y a su jinete, de locura. Pero sobre la casa de Judá abriré mis ojos, mientras hiero de ceguera a todo caballo de los pueblos.

5 Entonces los jefes de familias de Judá dirán en su corazón: "Gran apoyo para nosotros son los habitantes de Jerusalén por el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, su Dios."

6 Aquel día haré de los jefes de familias de Judá como brasero de fuego entre leños, y como antorcha ardiendo entre gavillas, y consumirán a diestra y a siniestra a todos los pueblos de alrededor, y Jerusalén será habitada de nuevo en su lugar, en Jerusalén.

7 El SEÑOR salvará primero las tiendas de Judá, para que la gloria de la casa de David y la gloria de los habitantes de Jerusalén no se engrandezca sobre Judá.

8 Aquel día el SEÑOR defenderá a los habitantes de Jerusalén, y el débil entre ellos aquel día será como David, y la casa de David será como Dios, como el ángel del SEÑOR delante de ellos.
