6 So I issued a decree that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret the dream for me.

Daniel 4:6

Therefore made I a decree
Published a proclamation; signifying it was his mind and will to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before him;
all together, supposing that one or other of them, or by consulting together, would be able to explain things to his satisfaction, and make him more easy: that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream;
for though they could not tell the interpretation of his former dream, because he could not relate to them the dream itself; which, if he could, they promised him the interpretation; but now he could remember it, and therefore might expect they would make known the interpretation of it to him.

4 I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and flourishing in my palace.
5 I had a dream, and it frightened me; while I was in my bed, the images and visions in my mind alarmed me.
6 So I issued a decree that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret the dream for me.
7 When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and diviners came in, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.
8 But at last, into my presence came Daniel (whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods). And I told him the dream:
