Psalm 70:1 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 70:1

[Make haste], O God, to deliver me
The phrase, "make haste", is supplied from the following clause in ( Psalms 40:13 ) ; it is, "be pleased, O Lord", or "Jehovah". The Targum renders it, "to deliver us"; very wrongly;

make haste to help me, O Lord; (See Gill on Psalms 22:19).

1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Hurry, O LORD, to help me!
2 May those who seek my life be ashamed and confounded; may those who wish me harm be repelled and humiliated.

4 May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation always say, β€œLet God be magnified!”
