Leviticus 6:6

6 You must bring to the priest as your compensation to the LORD a flawless ram from the flock at the standard value as a compensation offering.

Leviticus 6:6 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 6:6

And he shall bring his trespass [offering] unto the Lord,
&c.] That is, to the tabernacle of the Lord, to the altar of the Lord in it, and to his priest ministering therein, as it follows:

a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a
trespass [offering] unto the priest;
the same offering that was ordered for a trespass through ignorance, ( Leviticus 5:16 ) typical of the sacrifice of Christ offered up both for sins of ignorance and wilful transgressions, for his blood cleanses from all sin, (See Gill on Leviticus 5:16); the phrase "with thy estimation", used there also ( Leviticus 5:16 ) , is here interpreted by Ben Gersom of two shekels, the value the ram was to be of, brought for the trespass offering.

Leviticus 6:6 In-Context

4 at that point, once you have sinned and become guilty of sin, you must return the property you took by robbery or fraud, or the deposit that was left with you for safekeeping, or the lost property that you found,
5 or whatever it was that you swore falsely about. You must make amends for the principal amount and add one-fifth to it. You must give it to the owner on the day you become guilty.
6 You must bring to the priest as your compensation to the LORD a flawless ram from the flock at the standard value as a compensation offering.
7 The priest will make reconciliation for you before the LORD, and you will be forgiven for anything you may have done that made you guilty.
