The fame of Artaxerxes and Mordecai

1 The king instituted a toll on all the land and sea routes of his kingdom.
2 His strength and courage, wealth and fame, are all recorded for posterity in the official records of the Persian and Median kings.
3 Mordecai was second only to King Artaxerxes, and he was a great man in the kingdom. He was held in honor by all the Jews and loved by his whole nation for his conduct.
