28:2 Critics once held that the use of iron was a late development. Mining of iron is now known to have taken place as early as the third millennium BC in Egypt, Anatolia, and Mesopotamia, though widespread mining operations began around 1200 BC. Since the use of iron antedates Moses, Job could have been familiar with it.
