Psalms 42:1 (King James Version)
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

- {Maschil,} or a Psalm giving instruction, of the sons, etc. Or, "An instructive Psalm," or didactic ode, "for the sons of Korah." It is generally supposed to have been written by David when driven from Jerusalem and beyond Jordan, by Absalom's rebellion.
