Overview - Ruth 1
Elimelech, driven by famine into Moab, dies there.
Mahlon and Chilion, having married wives of Moab, die also.
Naomi, returning homeward,
dissuades her two daughters-in-law from going with her.
14 Orpah leaves her, but Ruth with great constancy accompanies her.
19 They two come to Beth-lehem, where they are gladly received.

Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.
