Exodus 29:15 Meaning and Commentary

Exodus 29:15

Thou shalt also take one ram
One of the two he was bid to take, ( Exodus 29:1 ) ;

and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram;
confessing their sins, acknowledging their guilt, and by this act transferring the same to the ram, which was to be a burnt offering, and was typical of the imputation of sin to Christ, as before observed.

Exodus 29:15 In-Context

13 Take all the fat that covers the entrails, the fatty lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn [them] on the altar.
14 But burn up the bull's flesh, its hide, and its dung outside the camp; it is a sin offering.
15 "Take one ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram's head.
16 You are to slaughter the ram, take its blood, and sprinkle [it] on all sides of the altar.
17 Cut the ram into pieces. Wash its entrails and shanks, and place [them] with its head and its pieces [on the altar].
