Hebrews 10:33

33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.

Hebrews 10:33 Meaning and Commentary

Hebrews 10:33

Partly whilst ye were made a gazing stock
Brought upon the stage or theatre, and made a spectacle to the world, angels, and men, ( 1 Corinthians 4:9 )

both by reproaches and afflictions;
suffering both in their characters and reputations, and in their persons and substance:

and partly whilst ye became companions of them that were so used;
they maintained their communion with them, relieved them in distress, and sympathized with them.

Hebrews 10:33 In-Context

31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
32 Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings.
33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.
34 For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, knowing that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.
35 So don't throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
