Leviticus 6:16

16 Aaron and his sons may eat the rest of it. It is to be eaten as unleavened bread[a] in a holy place; they are to eat it in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.

Leviticus 6:16 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 6:16

And the remainder thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat,
&c.] What quantity of fine flour the meat offering consisted of is not said; very probably it was left to the offerer to bring what he would, since it was a freewill offering:

[with] unleavened [bread] shall it be eaten in the holy place;
or rather, "unleavened shall it be eaten"; for it cannot well be thought that bread of any sort should be eaten with this offering, which, properly speaking, was itself a bread offering, and so it should be called, rather than a meat offering; and certain it is, that no meat offering was to be made of leaven, but of fine flour unleavened, and so to be eaten, not by the priests in their own houses, but in the tabernacle; not in that part of it properly called the holy place, in distinction from the holy of holies, but as it follows:

in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation they shall eat
it;
in a room provided in that court for that purpose, as afterwards in the temple.

Leviticus 6:16 In-Context

14 "Now this is the law of the grain offering: Aaron's sons will present it before the Lord in front of the altar.
15 The priest is to remove a handful of fine flour and olive oil from the grain offering, with all the frankincense that is on the offering, and burn its memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
16 Aaron and his sons may eat the rest of it. It is to be eaten as unleavened bread in a holy place; they are to eat it in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.
17 It must not be baked with yeast; I have assigned it as their portion from My fire offerings. It is especially holy, like the sin offering and the restitution offering.
18 Any male among Aaron's descendants may eat it. It is a permanent portion throughout your generations from the fire offerings to the Lord. Anything that touches the offerings will become holy."
