Genesis 24:1

And Abraham was old, [and] well stricken in age
Being now one hundred and forty years of age, for as he was an hundred years old when Isaac was born, and Isaac was forty years of age when he married Rebekah, which was at this time, Abraham must be of the age mentioned, see ( Genesis 21:5 ) ( 25:20 ) ; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things;
with all kind of blessings, with temporal and spiritual blessings; the former seems chiefly designed here, because of what follows; God had blessed him, as Aben Ezra observes, with long life, and riches, and honour, and children, things desirable by men.

1 亞 伯 拉 罕 年 紀 老 邁 ， 向 來 在 一 切 事 上 耶 和 華 都 賜 福 給 他 。

2 亞 伯 拉 罕 對 管 理 他 全 業 最 老 的 僕 人 說 ： 請 你 把 手 放 在 我 大 腿 底 下 。

3 我 要 叫 你 指 著 耶 和 華 ─ 天 地 的 主 起 誓 ， 不 要 為 我 兒 子 娶 這 迦 南 地 中 的 女 子 為 妻 。

4 你 要 往 我 本 地 本 族 去 ， 為 我 的 兒 子 以 撒 娶 一 個 妻 子 。

5 僕 人 對 他 說 ： 倘 若 女 子 不 肯 跟 我 到 這 地 方 來 ， 我 必 須 將 你 的 兒 子 帶 回 你 原 出 之 地 麼 ？
