24 亞 蘭 的 軍 兵 雖 來 了 一 小 隊 ， 耶 和 華 卻 將 大 隊 的 軍 兵 交 在 他 們 手 裡 ， 是 因 猶 大 人 離 棄 耶 和 華 ─ 他 們 列 祖 的 　 神 ， 所 以 藉 亞 蘭 人 懲 罰 約 阿 施 。

2 Chronicles 24:24

For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men,
&c.] It consisted but of few:

and the Lord delivered a very great host into their hand;
which the king of Judah and his princes had got together to oppose them:

because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers;
therefore the Lord forsook them, and gave them up into the hand of their enemies:

so they executed judgment against Joash;
were the instruments God made use of to execute his vengeance on him for his idolatry and murder.

22 這 樣 ， 約 阿 施 王 不 想 念 撒 迦 利 亞 的 父 親 耶 何 耶 大 向 自 己 所 施 的 恩 ， 殺 了 他 的 兒 子 。 撒 迦 利 亞 臨 死 的 時 候 說 ： 願 耶 和 華 鑒 察 伸 冤 ！

23 滿 了 一 年 ， 亞 蘭 的 軍 兵 上 來 攻 擊 約 阿 施 ， 來 到 猶 大 和 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 殺 了 民 中 的 眾 首 領 ， 將 所 掠 的 財 貨 送 到 大 馬 色 王 那 裡 。

25 亞 蘭 人 離 開 約 阿 施 的 時 候 ， 他 患 重 病 ； 臣 僕 背 叛 他 ， 要 報 祭 司 耶 何 耶 大 兒 子 流 血 之 仇 ， 殺 他 在 床 上 ， 葬 他 在 大 衛 城 ， 只 是 不 葬 在 列 王 的 墳 墓 裡 。

26 背 叛 他 的 是 亞 捫 婦 人 示 米 押 的 兒 子 撒 拔 和 摩 押 婦 人 示 米 利 的 兒 子 約 薩 拔 。
